OCTOBER 13

Mid October. I kicked off my month by celebrating Halloween early at Trickz and Freakz St hosted by Grooveville (10/3). I vended some pins and new whip clips I collaborated with Damon on. I'm really proud of these ones, and I love the way Damon's sculpted guts against the whip cream, and they're super fun as hairclips. I intend on posting the rest of my stock, as well as opening up commissions, but the change in weather has made me reserved and hesitant. Of what, I'm not so sure. I've been working on this type of 'exposure therapy' where I acknowledge my cycles of self-inflicted shame and tackle them on a public scale. In some ways, it's allowed me to feel more free in public spaces. In others: how set apart I am from those who Don't Enjoy Doing That.

Anyways, my rating of Grooveville:

Overall, I would rate it a casual and reserved night, but I might just be getting old. I've vended at and attended this venue before, and while it's a bit hot it's quite homey(?). The dance floor is separated from the vendor area, and there's a clean bathroom (always a plus). There weren't too many of our friends there, so I mainly hungout at the table, and enjoyed the music.

We didn't stay all night. I feel like once it hits a specific time the air turns sour and everyone is super drunk all of a sudden, which I feel is pretty common in the party scene. The music, however, I really enjoyed! Recently, I feel like the music in the underground has slightly plateaued, and I've found it hard to enjoy sets recently. I think hardcore, and hardhouse specifically, have been booed out of sets a bit. And while the music was hard-hitting, the dance floor had low energy. I think with the amount of newcomers hitting the scene, true appreciation for music has been sort of washed, if that makes sense. The current appetite seems to not care whether it's good or bad, but happy and fast. At least that's all I can say from my perspective.

For future events I'm looking forward to: (10/16) The 9th Layer hosted by Crypt Frequencies, (10/17) Autmumn Tactics hosted by Bluecrush.mp3, and (10/31) Pinche Maniaco hosted by Banging Bass, Desert Gabbers, and Tracking Sounds. There are quite a bit of other parties happening on the 31st and throughout the month, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled.

Other than that, we've been hitting up Blue Monday's a lot, and honestly most of Hillcrest in general.

Tried a dive bar last Tuesday night with D, and it honestly felt really nice. I mainly wanted to go to work on my 'exposure' experiment, but we also really wanted to play pool. After showing up and seeing mounds of dudes hogging the pool table, we had a drink and ended up back at EQ (which had an empty pool table #Yas). 2 dirty shirleys and 2 lemon drops later I was pretty much puking in a bag of hot Cheetos on the way home. So don't do that. Lol.

MUSIC AND MEDIA

Album cover for Flooding Self titled

'Self Titled Album' Flooding // I haven't been listening to much music so I'm trying to throw myself back in the game. Really like Flooding's self titled album. Another slow one but is so beautiful the tracks practically melt into each-other. Other than that I've been listening to a lot of house, trance, and hardhouse (of course). I really love good sampling, whenever I mix with a few it always feels like I'm telling some kind of gritty, fantastical night-life fairytale. Off topic, but 'Supermodel' by Ms.Ruple has really been uplifting my mood when getting ready, so I implore you guys to try it.

Can you believe that I've only watched a single movie so far this month. I guess two now since I'm watching the SpongeBob movie while writing this. First movie was Backrooms, which I rated 4 stars. Full of suspense and it kind of has a low visual stimulation which I could see other goldfish viewers struggling with. I took off a star because I think the movie just relies way too heavily on the viewer's imagination, which is fine but does not pique my personal interest.

GAMES

Crying Mewmew character from deltarune

We finally got up to date on the Deltarune weird route only for it to absolutely play in our faces. But it did make me feel better at my skill in avoiding spoilers online. Now I'm on my personal save, trying to defeat Mewmew. I've noticed since between the last time I fought and the present that an easy Mewmew mode has been added, which I thank literally anybody at toby fox HQ who thought of doing that because what the fuck.

taiko no tatsujin

Also, really into battling other people on Mario kart Online. Playing with Damon is funny because I feel like his prodigy when I win the games lol. We've also been staggering between Super Monkey Ball and Taiko no Tatsujin because the monkey bosses are insanely hard.

While the heat freezes over, I'm finding that I'm getting older. My tastes are changing, my hair is getting longer, and I feel more tethered to my body than ever. I'm slacking, but I'm blaming that on my abandoned schedule that I'm writing back up tomorrow.

Something about the chill in the air invites rebirth, and I'm trying to lean into it's energy. I think I'm ready to grow and reach somewhere. Next post Early Nov... Toodleeeees ˖ ݁♬⋆.˚𝄞༄࿐༘⋆

SEPTEMBER 26

September has come and gone, and I feel like it has blown through me. Recently, the nights I've spent out have blistered the smallest nerves into raw skin. Somehow, I find it curable by giving into my aimless ideas (like building a website). Luckily my tumblr veteran status has helped me along, but coding is definitely other than easy, although, I seem to be getting the hang of it faster thaan I thought. Besides that, my time spent crafting is slim to none, which I need to get back into. I hope to do a giveaway soon, if it's worth it.

MUSIC

Album cover for Pinback self titled

'Self Titled Album' Pinback I've been listening to a lot of slower and older stuff. I'm really into Tripoli by Pinback, much like the entire album, but not a lot else about them. I wish there was a secret extra album to this one. Really into post-anything right now, as well as slow french songs like 'L'intrigue' by Deux Filles.

GAMES

Dancing Tenna character from deltarune

Currently trying to complete the weird route with D on Deltarune. We got all the way up to the knight before realizing we missed so many food items we had to completely restart. Right now we're on... Chapter 3. I think I hate this chapter simply because of how many times we've played it, but it's fine. Other than that I've been enjoying Fields of Mistria. I've been liking it a lot more than Stardew (besides some mechanics and limitations).

That's all for now, next blog post should be mid-October, #Tataaa ✩‧₊˚⸜('꒳ ')ଓ ༘˚
